The federal No Surprises Act protects Arkansas patients from many out-of-network "surprise" bills for emergency care and certain in-network-facility services. Almost every Arkansas hospital will negotiate. If a medical bill is sent to collections, you still have rights. Under federal law (FDCPA), debt collectors can't harass you or misrepresent the debt.
